Food For Hope
Cultivating Generosity, Harvesting Hope
Growing Food With Purpose
At Food for Hope, we believe that access to healthy food is an important part of strong and resilient communities.
Through community-based initiatives and sustainable agriculture practices, the program supports the production and distribution of fresh food where possible, including:

-
Fresh vegetables
-
Farm-fresh eggs
-
Responsibly raised animal products
Our Mission
Hosted by Rice Lake Farms, Food for Hope is a community-focused non-profit initiative that supports the production and distribution of fresh food to local charitable food programs and communities in need.
Our mission is to demonstrate how agricultural practices can contribute to community well-being by encouraging participation from farmers, families, and local partners in food-based giving initiatives. This includes opportunities to contribute fresh vegetables, eggs, and other farm-produced goods where available and appropriate.
Through these efforts, Food for Hope aims to raise awareness of food insecurity, strengthen community connections, and promote engagement in local food systems.
How We Farm
Food for Hope follows organic and regenerative farming practices designed to support soil health, animal welfare, and responsible food production.
Our farming approach prioritizes:
-
The avoidance of synthetic pesticides where possible
-
The reduction of synthetic fertilizers in favour of natural soil management practices
-
Free-range and pasture-based living conditions for chickens, sheep, and pigs, where appropriate for animal welfare and farm operations
These practices are intended to support environmentally responsible food production while contributing to community-based food initiatives.

Our Goal
Food for Hope aims to contribute the equivalent of over $80,000 in fresh food value to charitable food programs and community organizations supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
This goal reflects our commitment to strengthening local food systems and increasing access to fresh, locally produced food through community-based agricultural initiatives and partnerships.
Each crop harvested, egg collected, and animal raised represents an opportunity to support community food initiatives and raise awareness of food insecurity within our region.

About Us
Hosted by Rice Lake Farms, Food for Hope is a community-driven non-profit initiative that supports the production and distribution of fresh food to individuals, families, and local community organizations experiencing food insecurity.
Rooted in compassion, sustainability, and community engagement, we believe agriculture can play a meaningful role in strengthening connections between people and supporting local food systems.
Through responsible and sustainable farming practices, we prioritize the avoidance of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers where possible, focusing on soil health and environmentally conscious food production. Our farming activities support the production of fresh vegetables, eggs, and responsibly raised livestock, which may be contributed to community food initiatives where appropriate.
Beyond farming, Food for Hope focuses on inspiring community participation in agricultural giving, strengthening local partnerships, and increasing awareness of food insecurity and food system challenges within our region.
